The Credico South Africa Awards Gala was held at Sun City Resort on the 18th of March, 2025.
The event started off with a networking dinner on the 16th in the prestigious Palace of the Lost City. Business owners had the opportunity to network with one another and gain valuable information and advice from international guests.
On 17th March, the day began with an Owners Conference, discussing relevant topics and also included panel discussions. Whilst the Owners Conference was taking place, clients enjoyed a day out on the Lost City golf course or a fun afternoon of padel. A dinner was hosted at The Shebeen, an event which is always enjoyed by all. The Shebeen is a vibrant, authentically South African venue that offers a lively and immersive cultural experience and is designed to replicate the traditional township taverns of South Africa. The group enjoyed music, conversation, a traditional South African braai, pool, and dancing.
The energy was electric on Tuesday, and everyone was excited about the main event. The afternoon commenced with a VIP function for owners and clients, where everyone arrived in their glamorous evening dresses and stylish suits. After the champagne arrivals, it was time to move into the impressive Super Bowl and enjoy an evening celebrating their incredible success.
Credico SA’s CEO, Peter van den Berg, welcomed everyone and highlighted the fantastic results achieved for 2024. It was then time to move on to the awards – we would like to congratulate all the nominees recognized during the ceremony, and especially the deserving winners! We heard inspiring speeches from each winner, who spoke on their respective journeys toward the success they have achieved today. Although many experienced difficulties and failings along the way, all have learnt from the experiences on the path toward their incredible accomplishments.
Once the formalities were over, it was then time to celebrate — and a night of celebration it certainly was. The Kings Ballroom had been transformed into a carnival of colour, and guests were greeted at the red carpet by stilt walkers, a unicyclist, and dancers performing to the music being played by popular cover band, Bed and Breakfast. Once everyone had enjoyed some food and drinks, it was time to move on to the main act, DJ Zinhle, who was an absolute hit and raised the energy a bar or two higher. The final act for the night was DJ Sosha, an up-and-coming 18-year-old DJ who also did an amazing job of keeping everyone on the dance floor until the early hours of the morning.
The South Africa Gala Awards was not only a celebration of the successes of 2024 but also a reminder of goals being set for 2025. Congratulations not only to the winners but also to all the nominees. The competition was really positive over this past year, and the bar has been set high. We can all aspire to improve on the excellent results we have seen achieved.
